    Science has proven it and we prove it every day: emotions are contagious. The most extreme example is human stampedes. A couple of people scream and run off in a panic and a stampede of people is formed for no reason. Sometimes the consequences can even be very unpleasant. That is why it is important to strengthen the emotional immune system.
    Without going to the extremes of the previous example, we see on a daily basis how emotional states are contagious. We owe it to the mirror neurons, which imitate and appropriate the emotions of others. That is why the group has such an impact on the individual and why our best defense is to have an emotional immune system in good condition.

    Some are more impervious to the mood of the group. They may remain more or less immutable in the face of it. The ability to resist these influences depends on the state of our emotional immune system. If it is strong, there is greater independence. If it is weak, we are more easily infected. How can we strengthen this system? Here are some keys to achieve it.
    Awareness strengthens the emotional immune systemIt is good that we allow ourselves to be infected by the joy and optimism of others. What is not very advisable is to allow stress, boredom or pessimism to rub off on us. Unfortunately, some negative emotions, such as anxiety, are more easily transmitted than positive ones.
    One way to strengthen the emotional immune system, and prevent us from getting carried away by the moods of others, is to start with ourselves. What emotions are the ones that prevail in our daily lives? What are the emotions that we pass on to others?
    Exaggerating the signs of a good moodThe best thing to do is to begin by exercising greater control over our emotions. Nothing better for this than to induce ourselves into positive moods. Staying in a good mood makes us stronger.
    A valid technique is to exaggerate a little. Smile, even if we don’t feel like it. Thank the universe and life for everything, even if that everything is just little things in our daily lives. Be especially kind to those we are not used to being kind to. This strengthens our emotional immune system.
    Avoid criticism and power strugglesNothing poisons the emotions more than being on the plan to criticize others and gossip. This exercise is very negative. Today we promote it and tomorrow we are victims of it. Let us not foster heavy or negative environments.
    The struggles for small powers also wear out a lot. To be above others has no merit. We are always above some and below others. It is inevitable.     Learning to communicate negative feelingsIt is inevitable that from time to time we will be assaulted by one of those heavy, negative emotions that affect us and others when we spread them. Stress, depression, anger, resentment or any of those not positive feelings that are in the wide range of our mind.
    First of all, what is recommended in these cases is to try to reduce the intensity of that emotion. Taking 5 minutes to breathe deeply is a good idea. This oxygenates us and contributes to balance our organism. As a consequence, our emotions are also stabilized. Then, think carefully about the best way to express what we feel, in the most constructive way possible.
    All these techniques have no other purpose than to strengthen our emotional immune system. If we become light, we will receive light from others. We must never forget that what we do for others, we also do for ourselves.
